Qigong is for Everyone
There are many different forms of Qigong and there is certainly something for everyone. Qigong forms include movement forms, standing forms, breathing forms and meditation forms. There is something for everyone from the young to seniors. Kids can benefit from learning tools and principles that will help guide them in life for maintaining a healthy body and mind. Adults of all ages can benefit from the mind-body practice of Qigong. Qigong can be a way of life, not just with the forms, but it can be a guiding practice for all areas of your life.
For those that are in relatively good health, Qigong will improve the energy and blood circulation in the body. It will also provide a way to balance and release the stress in your life. For those that are weak or frail, Qigong will provide tools that can help you on the road to recovery. In Qigong, you start right where you are. If you can't do the movement forms, then you start with breathing and meditation. If you can do some movements and not others, then the movement forms can be adapted for your physical ability. Some physical forms will help improve your physical strength and endurance. You can learn to heal yourself through practicing Qigong. I have been through different health challenges throughout my life and fortunately I had the tools of Qigong and great teachers for navigating tough waters. Qigong is also great for older people to maintain an independent and quality life. It can help senior citizens to maintain or regain physical strengthen. It can provide a perspective and framework for dealing with change and uncertainty.
When you practice Qigong for a period of time, you eventually come to the awareness that while we look and feel individual and separate from everyone because that's what our senses tell us, we are actually connected to everyone, to all living beings. We are part of the collective energy system (Chi Field) of the Universe. We are not alone. And, we can tap into this collective energy system at any time for strength, healing and more.
