Instructor's Corner
As we approach Thanksgiving, it is time to reflect on all the abundance we have in our lives. It is time to give thanks for this abundance. During the trying times in life when everything seems dark and difficult, it is especially important to remind ourselves of how grateful we are for the people and things in our lives. If we practice gratitude regularly during the good times, then it will be easier to practice gratitude during the difficult times.
When studying Qigong, we learn that it is the energy of our mind that activates the Chi Field and attracts to us people, things or circumstances with a similar energy vibration. Thus, it is important to feel gratitude and be positive as we take action to achieve our goals and desires, including our health goals and desires.
Qigong provides many tools for training the mind, reducing stress and increasing energy to improve your health. I have benefited from many forms of Qigong. You can experience similar benefits too.
The purpose of the Vital Qi Newsletter is to bring awareness to Qigong and to inform you of Qigong classes and products available at Inner Vitality Qigong.
We also intend on covering other natural health related topics. We look forward to working with you and growing together as we cultivate
inner vitality through the art of Qigong. Please feel free to share this newsletter with family and friends.

Lessons From The Masters |
Lessons from the Tao Te Ching
In Chapter 9, the Tao indicates that if you try to put too much into your cup it will fill over. As you will find throughout the Tao, there are many metaphors for living life in a balanced way. Thus, it is best to stop filling (short) before you over fill it and it spills over. In life it is very easy to become out of balance. As we find that a sharp blade is easily blunted (you can't keep it sharp for long). Gold and jade refer to wealth. If you focus too much on wealth and position (greed and power), it will bring trouble upon yourself. Once you have accomplished your goal, it best to keep to yourself. This is the way to Heaven.
You can read more about the Tao Te Ching here.
Chapter 9
Holding a cup and overfilling it
Cannot be as good as stopping short
Pounding a blade and sharpening it
Cannot be kept for long
Gold and jade fill up the room
No one is able to protect them
Wealth and position bring arrogance
And leave disasters upon oneself
When achievement is completed, fame is attained
Withdraw oneself
This is the Tao of Heaven

Words of Wisdom
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be."

Qigong Practice |
Qigong Tip
Do not try to learn Qigong from a book. You could not only hurt yourself physically, but you could also hinder your Qi flow and hurt your internal organs. Your body and your mind must be gradually and properly prepared to open the channels as well as to acquire more energy. You can only get this type of training from a qualified Qigong instructor.
